Students arriving between 7:30 - 7:45am will wait in the cafeteria until dismissal to their playground at 7:45. Kindergarten and 1st graders will be walked over to their playground by two teachers.  If your student is NOT eating breakfast at the school cafeteria, we suggest they arrive after 7:45am.

Checking Out Students Early:
At Rio Del Oro Elementary, every minute counts! Each school day ends at 2:30p.m, with an early release time of 1:30 on Mondays. I have noticed that we have many parents that check their students out 15-20 minutes prior to the release time. Now I realize that sometimes there are doctor or dentist appointments, but often times, it is just "easier" to pick students up at that time. Please understand that we use every minute of the school day for instruction and, yes, 15-20 minutes can make a difference. The end of the school day is also a time to review the day's key learning as well as going over homework, so it is imperative that your child hear this information. Thank you in advance, for adhering to the release time and allowing your child to stay for the full day.

Student Attendance:
If your child is absent from school, please notify the school by calling the school before 10:00am. When leaving a message on our voice mail, please state your child's name, room number or teacher's name, and the reason for the absence. If your child arrives to school after 8:00am, he/she must check in with the office.

Campus Visitors:
ALL visitors must report to the front office, sign in, and receive a Visitor's Pass before going on campus or visiting classes.

Kindergarten Parents:
When you bring your Kindergartner in the morning please make sure younger siblings do not play on the school equipment due to safety issues. Thank you.

UPDATE STUDENT INFORMATION:
For every student who attends a Plumas Lake Elementary School District school, an updated, complete registration form must be filled out each year. This form gives us the necessary information to deal with any emergencies that may arise. EMERGENCY NUMBERS ARE VITAL! It is essential to the safety and well being of our students that we be notified of any changes to the information on the registration forms. We will only release children to parents, guardians, or names of people you list on the registration form.

Parking Lot Procedures:
We have one pick-up lane. Please wait while traffic moves forward. The second lane is for drive-through only. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED IN EITHER OF THESE LANES. If you prefer to pick up your child personally, please park and walk up using one of the crosswalks in our parking lot.

E-Mail Needed:
In an effort to save funds, we are using e-mail as a way to keep you informed of all important news or announcements. Please make sure we have your e-mail on file. You may e-mail your e-mail address to rharland@plusd.org. Thanks!
