Principal's Corner

Principal's Message

Rio Del Oro Families, Community Members, and Visitors,

As the mornings get cooler and the evenings get shorter, we can now look back to the beginning of the school year and reflect. We opened our doors to 442 students on August 17. Two months later, we are at 453 students with families moving into the new housing being built throughout Plumas Lake.

Teachers and staff have been diligently working during Monday collaborations, professional developments, and academic conferences to review student work and assessment data to determine what students know, what students still need to learn, and to make a plan to address those needs. The work the teachers and staff do make a positive impact on your child’s academic and social progress on a daily basis. I am sure you see evidence of this as well.

We at Rio Del Oro continue to strive to reach our goal that all students are safe, cared for, and receive an education that addresses the whole child. It is through our relationships with the students, their families, and our community members that make this possible. Thank you for being an active part in your child’s education and partnering with us this year.
